Lok-N-Logs is totally involved with the log products which go into every one of our log homes--from the forest to your building site. From timber harvest to finish millwork, Lok-N-Logs controls and monitors every aspect of production, treating every log home as if it were our own home. In our company-owned sawmills, dry kilns, planer mills, and preservation facilities, we saw the raw logs shortly after they are harvested and then dry the rough sawn material. Logs are then handpeeled and planed or shaped into smooth profile finishes. Then they are graded, precut, and numbered according to each customer's individual design.

After the log material is sawn and peeled, each pack is pressure-treated at our own treatment facilities with a sodium borate solution. While most other log home companies simply dip-treat your log material, Lok-N-Logs pressure treats it--assuring the quality of our treatment process. Our choice of preservative also serves to underscore Lok-N-Logs' respect and concern for the environment. The sodium borate solution is an odorless product which contains no hazardous solvents.

Log Styles

Lok-N-Logs offers a choice of several log styles, from our signature, rustic peeled style to the more contemporary appearing shaped finishes, each with its own unique appeal.

Exterior Choices

Lok-N-Logs offers three exterior choices, rustic peeled, shaped, or clapboard style. Our rustic peeled style is finished by hand with a draw knife, giving each log an individual, natural, and more rustic look while our shaped profiles, with their factory milled smooth finish are uniformly curved for a more classic line.

Interior Choices

Lok-N-Logs offers three interior profile choices, rustic peeled, shaped, or flat. These interior styles may even be mixed within the same log building. Log components such as floor joists, rafters, and posts may be rustic peeled, shaped, or square cut to highlight your decorating scheme or to complement your log walls.

PreCut Components

At Lok-N-Logs, we totally precut all of your log components. In addition to our 8' high log walls, which feature precut corner joints and window and door openings, we also precut our full log gable ends--including roof angles and any gable end openings. Regardless of your choice of log style or roof configuration, your Lok-N-Logs home will arrive at your building site with precut house and porch rafters. We also precut the mortise and tenon floor joints and the main carrier beam connections for your second floor support system. Accurate precutting means less construction time on site and translates into substantial construction cost savings.

On-Site Assistance

Lok-N-Logs offers a "technical assistance" session as part of every log home package which we sell. A member of our trained start-up staff will visit your building site and show you or your builder how to properly stack our log wall system. We want your home to be the best that it can be.
